I thought that this class went really well, there was a lot we went thought and lot of expectation, but it was nothing we couldn't handle. I thought that it was grate experience, working with other people in one project was complicated but it made our final out come really strong.
p.s my video doesn't have audio :)

Transforming locations

After
This was the scene that I was mostly worried about. It was the most complicated scene that I had to dress in the whole film. Trying to cover the white walls was really hard, finding props that I could use to cover the white walls and also would work with the lighting and the wardrobe was really difficult. What really helped was the rapping paper I found at the two dollar shops, it was easy to put up and it did help a lot with the lighting it also helped bring the actors out.

Guss Bedroom
Before
This location we had to create a teenage boys bed room, we got posters for the wall a lamp to help with the lighting. The brought a couple of props to help with the set, but most of the thing were provided for us.
Witness Home
Witness bathroom

At this scene I really didn't change much and the directors change the spot to shoot so all I needed to provide was the spear shirt for the actor and spear cloths as props. I figured that the main character should wear the red checked shirt because it makes him stand out, and I wanted to stick to the idea of having red and black as the solid colour in the film.
Witness Kitchen

After
This scene I also didn't have to change much either, all I had to was to provide the props which was the whisky bottle and the coke bottle. I was not allowed to use real whiskey so we had to use something that had a similar colour to whiskey so we came up with the idea of using ice tea.
Witness lounge
The witness lounge scene was the one we basically did nothing, the lounge was the easiest one we had to dress because it already looked like a family home.

In this location didn't do much, the most it was the lighting that was more important, all I did was too put some photos up on the wall to brake the white wall and get the bed sheets ready.

Production Designer Mode :)
Colour Scheme Research
http://filmmakeriq.com/lessons/introduction-to-color-in-digital-filmmaking/
Video Research
This was the video clip that caught my interest, because I really like the way they use the colour black. Black is a difficult colour to work with but they have managed to create a video with a lot of black feature and it looks amazing. I really admire the way they use the red lighting and the red wardrobe and red props. I think that they took a big ricks of using red and black but it turned out really grate, which is something I want to do with my production design job.

So I didn't really have any idea what colour scheme is and how it works in a film production, so I did some research and try and understand how colour works in a film.

Production Team in Process
My Roll
I got put in to the job of Production Designer, Which I thought was a decent job for me.
Production designers are responsible for the visual concept of a film, television or theatre production. They realise a design style for sets, locations, graphics, props, lighting, camera angles and costumes, while working closely with the director and producer.
Once the concept is decided, designers usually appoint and manage an art department, which includes a design and construction team. They often form a strong partnership with a particular director with whom they may work on many productions.
Designers tend to specialise in either film, television or theatre, although there may be some overlap. In the theatre, production designers are also called stage or set designers.
Typical work activities
Most production designers work as freelancers and so an important part of their work is marketing their skills and experience, making contacts and briefing agents. First tasks usually include clarifying the brief and agreeing a suitable fee and timescale, which is sometimes done by an agent. After this, work activities might then include:
- reading scripts to identify factors indicating a particular visual style;
- considering the production brief, which may be written or oral;
- meeting the producer and director to discuss concepts and production requirements;
- researching art history, background politics, historical information and producing design ideas;
- planning and monitoring the design budget;
- providing scale drawings or models for studio or theatre sets;
- producing design ideas for costumes, wigs, props, special effects, make-up and graphics;
- identifying and assessing potential studios and locations;
- sourcing appropriate materials and researching effects;
- presenting ideas to others involved in the production, such as actors and camera operators;
- researching, estimating and preparing a property list;
- hiring and managing an art department team or teams (depending on the size of the production);
- instructing the set construction company, scenic artists and special effects specialists, and monitoring their work;
- liaising with the costume designer and the director of photography, as well as the props, lighting and sound directors;
- attending progress meetings, rehearsals and filming to advise on visual presentation.

We really want the audience to engaged, we could minimize dialoged so we could get the audience thinking about the audience.
Research.
Videos, ads that can relate or will help us develop our projects.
This ad is from the campaign its the one that was the most effective ad that they have had so far, and as a group we think that we can come up with something much better and much more stronger.
The action of the boy blocking his mouth is effective but also confusing. Ive only managed to get what the ad main massage at the end when the credits were coming up saying "The world is a dangerous place, not because of those who do evil, but because of those who look on and do nothing" but watching throughout the add I thought that the boy was holding his mouth because he wanted to keep quiet so that the people that are hurting other people would not see him and beat him up.
But I still think that this ad still does a grate job with trying to conveying the idea of encouraging witness to speak about the crime, which is what the campaign is trying to encourage.
This video was really intense, it was the most effective British Adverts.
I looked through this video because I wanted to research more on effective concept that we could use in our video. Most of them were really strong, and they were pretty creepy. We would have to have a grate cast group of people and a grate post production crew to get it done, but we are just a year 1 diploma moving image class with not much experience in the middle of Otara.
Coming up with and an easy but effective idea that we can work with, according to our budget and our experience and especially with the equipment that we have access too.

This ad didn't have any special camera movements or didn't need any pro actors which was pretty helpful. The ad was a easy and a grate idea.
This ad was also a grate idea and had camera work init. I like the simplicity in this ad it was straight straight forward.
This ad was interesting, I like the idea of having the point of view from the offender point of view. Which is a concept that is really effective if its portray well by the production crew
Looking throughout these videos made me realise that I need to start on in-depth research, so I started looking at ads that are made in NZ.
This ad was a grate example of having a simple idea with a simple script shoot very well. Their idea of minimising the script was a grate idea the audience is focused on how the boys friendship changes before the accident and after the accident. Throughout the ad the only words I heard was mate and Dave at the end, but even with less script writing, I still got the message that of calling him Dave instead of Mate at the end after the accident that there was a problem between the boys friendship and it was due to his drink and driving action.
